After studying piano and composing at the Besançon (East of France) Conservatory of Music, Yves Cuenot started playing organ under the direction of Jeanne Marguillard and became her assistant at the Madeleine Church Great Organ.

Attracted from the earliest age by baroque music, he was a student of Andre Isoir, whose teachings became for him a yet unextinguished source of discovery and inspiration.

At the same time, Cuenot was learning harpsichord with Jean-Patrice Brosse, then Scott Ross. Eager to diversify his musical knowledge, he followed workshops in conducting, with Fernand QUATTROCCI and Pierre DERVAUX. He was also a teacher at the musicology department of the Burgundy University in Dijon and he presided the Organ Federation of the Côte d'Or area of Burgundy.

Many instruments were saved and restored in the region during his leadership.

He is currently a teacher at the Dijon Conservatory of Music and the director of the Auxonne School of Music.

The co-principal organist at the Dijon Cathedral Great Organ, he is in addition the established organist of the historic "Callinet Organ" in Auxonne.
