BEAK AND NAILS is a relatively short piece and was specifically written for players who already have 1 till 6 years of instrumental experience. The original version was conceived for recorders quartet, keyboard and congas. And then two other versions were written. The two of them keep the keyboard and the congas but propose two other „quartet“ bands: one version with four B-flat clarinets and the second one with four saxophones (1 soprano, 2 altos and 1 tenor).
Beak and nails was played for the first time with recorders March 29, 2009, at the Old school of Voulx (Seine-et-Marne).
