J.P. GRAU holds the Diploma of the École Normale de Musique [a well-known music college] in Paris and the Gold Medal of the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique [the most prestigious French music college]. He divides his time between composing and performing. He also holds the State Diploma and Certificate of Competence in Classical Guitar and currently teaches at the Conservatoire of St Denis, in the Paris suburbs, and at the National Regional Conservatoire in Perpignan. Studies in composition and electro-acoustic music with Denis Dufour have led him to write educational music for his own instrument and for his pupils. He is particularly interested in the various expressive possibilities of solo and ensemble music, and in computer-aided composition.
