HILPIPRE Gérard

Gérard Hilpipre is born in 1959 at La Broque. Mainly self-taught, he developed his atonalistic and lyrical musical language by his friend the composer and conductor Détlef Kieffer, who conducted many of G. Hilpipre’s first works with the ensemble of modern music “Studio 111” in Strasbourg. Since the 1980’s Gérard Hilpipre’s orchestral works, chamber music, works for choir or organ are played in France as well as abroad (Germany, Luxembourg, Hungary or Switzerland). He is laureate of the Goethe-Stiftung (Basel) in 1986.
