Christian Mass was born in Paris and discovered organ in a largely self-taught manner. It is in this way that he approached his studies of the keyboard and theory. In Paris, he was admitted to organ studies classes at the Gabriel Fauré Conservatory under the master Marcel Pépin (Marcel Dupré’s disciple). At the same time, he followed certain courses of training and apprenticeship and Master Classes in the summers with Jean-Paul Imbert, Jean-Charles Ablitzer, Ivan Catex, Marie-Claire Alain...

In order to improve his abilities in the Baroque repertory, he studied with Mrs Hélène Hebraud (Michel Chapuis’s disciple) at the the Gagny Conservatory. Then he was admitted to organ studies classes at the Rouen Conservatory under the master, Louis Thiry. He studied the Messiaen organ works and the Baroque too. He won the first price called «Médaille d’or». Christian Mass decided to take up the liturgical profession and became the Titular organist in the St Pierre of Charenton-le-Pont, then Our Lady of Vernon.

Since 1990, he teaches the organ and the harpsichord in Normandy. As much as performer, he has given several recitals mainly in Europe and northern America. Fervent performer of the romantic and contemporary organ music, he delights the audience with an art of the registration which exploits all the colors of the organs that he plays through the world.

He got a large repertory of which he always give an appreciable and colorful interpretation.

Also interested in writing music, he is the author of numerous organ pieces as well as others for various instruments. His piece «Diptyque op.12» for Trumpet has used for the Competitive examination for the Municipal Conservatory of Paris, Trumpet class. He translate some works from orchestra and piano. Several recordings are in his career.
