SCHUBNEL Henri-Jean

Born in Nice in 1935, Henri-Jean Schubnel, took in 1955 the Grand prix de la Ville de Nice Attributed to the most remarkable student to the competition from the Conservatory (unanimously, First Price of organ, first medal of armonia…). Having composed from the age of 12 years, heis co-founder of the Association des Amis de l’orgue de Nice et de la Côte- d’azur in 1958. Pupil of Tony Aubin in Paris, he obtained the Special Price of the Jury of composition the Académie internationale d’été in 1964.

Doctor es-natural sciences, Professor of Minéralogie of the National Muséum of Natural History in Paris, Henri-jean Schubnel managed a Festival de musique de chambre du Muséum there until 2002, and continues since his composer’s career (chamber music, concertos, opera)
