GONIN Frédéric

Frédéric Gonin is a highly qualified music teacher (Agrégation Certificate). He has a doctorate in the arts for his thesis on the writing of fugues by classical composers, in particular Mozart and Haydn. At present he teaches the music ecriture and the history of music at Lyon 2 University.

He studied at the CNR and the CNSM in Lyon, where he obtained a Diplôme National d’Etudes Supérieures Musicales in music ecriture with Loïc Mallié, in music ecriture and orchestration with Gérard Gastinel, in the analysis and music ecriture of ancient music with Gérard Geay and in the analysis of 20th century music with Robert Pascal. His research is centred on the analysis and definition of the creative processes which have stimulated composers particularly in the 18th century.

This research has featured in about 15 articles published in the main French musicology press (Analyse musicale, La revue de musicologie, Musurgia, L’éducation musicale). He has also reconstituted 10 of Mozart's unfinished works (Editions Notissimo) and has written the following 3 volumes : Manuel d’analyse harmonique et tonale (De plein vent, 2002), Exercices progressifs et créatifs d’écriture tonale (Symétrie, 2006) et Processus créateurs et musique tonale (L’Harmattan, 2008).
