MARILLIER Léo

Léo Marillier played first cello and piano in his native town, Provins, before falling in love with violin. In Alexis Galpérine’s class at Superior National Conservatory of Paris since 2011, he joins for Master of Music Miriam Fried’s class at New England Conservatory of Boston, after violin superior diploma and Prize of analysis prepared with Bruno Ducol. Taught first by Larissa Kolos at Conservatory of Paris, he obtained unanimously with congratulations and “premier nommé” his violin prize and met violonists such as S.Tran Ngoc, J.J. Kantorow, Z. Bron or P. Vernikov.

His first recital at the age of nine showed his natural musicality and his outstanding virtuosity which were quickly confirmed by his beginnings in Germany, Lituania and Denmark as a soloist with orchestra and in numerous festivals. Youngest laureate and Grand Prix and Mozart special Prize at the 8th Dvarionas international competition, First Prize at 6th Marschner international competition, youngest laureate also with Tchaïkovski special Prize at 6th Tchaïkovski international competition for young musicians held in Seoul. Leo Marillier is regularly invited by Festivals in France and abroad.

At only fifteen years old, Léo Marillier adapted “Reminiscences de Don Juan” of Franz Liszt for violin and piano in the honor of the composer for the Bicentenary of his birth in 2011.
