NOEL Hervé

Hervé Noël was born on 7 August 1961 in Libramont (Belgium). After initially studying science, he eventually transferred to the National Music Conservatory in Paris where he obtained the First Prize in trumpet in 1987.

He then participated actively in concert tours of the Jeunesses Musicales de France, and the following year, his career developed rapidly after a brilliant showing at the Maurice André International Competition. Invitations to perform as a soloist with the most prestigious ensembles began to pour in from France and abroad.

Nonetheless, Hervé Noël also favours duos with organ that enable him to tackle a broader repertoire ranging from the 17th to the 21st centuries. The Orchestre Symphonique Français engaged him as trumpet solo, a post he occupied until 1995.

Since then, he has devoted himself essentially to his international career as a concert artist, which has led him to appear at numerous festivals, where his particular ease with the piccolo trumpet has made him a remarkable interpreter of the Baroque repertoire.

In 1996, Hervé Noël was unanimously appointed Professor at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels where he can henceforth train the next generation of trumpet players.
