SIEGEL Richard

American harpsichordist born in 1949, Richard Siegel finished his musical studies in the United States and came to France, where he won First Prizes in Harpsichord and in Chamber Music at the Paris National Conservatory.

In 1977, at the Paris International Harpsichord Competition, he was awarded the Prize in Fïgured Bass Realization. Since then, Richard Siegel has pursued an international career, and has played numerous concert tours: With the Ensemble Instrumental de France, in Italie, England, and in Germany where he accompanied Jean-Pierre Rampal.

In the United States and in the Far East with the Ensemble Instrumental Andrée Colson. With the Jean-François Paillard Chamber Orchestra, in the U.S.S.R., in Japan, in the United States, etc...

Richard Siegel is at present a member of the Jean-François Paillard Chamber Orchestra as well as the Ensemble Baroque Français. He is also devoted to teaching, with classes at the National School of Music in Pantin, at the Paris National Conservatory, and at the Sorbonne. While accompanying such soloists as Jean-Pierre Rampal, Gérard Jarry, and Maurice André, Richard Siegel pursues a brilliant career as a soloist.
