Luc Charles-Dominique is Professor of ethnomusicology at the University of Nice-Sophia-Antipolis.

Its search is of natural triple: in historical musical anthropology (historical character of the fiddler, influences gypsy musics on the French music, symbolic systems of sound), in epistemology (ethnomusicology and history), in ethnomusicology of France and the Mediterranean (anthropology of modernity).

Member of the French Society of Ethnomusicology, he is cofounder and president of the CIRIEF (Interdisciplinary Research Society in Ethnomusicology of France).
