Henri Gonnard lectures at the University of Tours, France, where he is a member of the Cultural and Discursive Interactions unit. His works focus on western music and its relationship to literature, other fine arts and the history of ideas, from Romanticism to Surrealism, as well as the mechanisms of the musical discourse. His last work is an Introduction To Tonal Music (Paris, Champion, 2011).
