SAMSON Sylvain

Sylvain Samson, researcher associated to the team CCAMAN (Confluences, Cinématographiques, Audiovisuelles, Musicales, et Arts numériques) – LISAA laboratory (Littératures, Savoirs et Arts)(EA-4120), Paris-Est Marne la Vallée University, holder of an agrégation in music ; fully qualified teacher in the history of arts and PhD in musicology at the TOURS university and the ROMA Sapienza. My research concentrates on different issues concerning the opera and, more generally, drama. Giving priority to multidisciplinary approaches, my fields of reflection include literature, history, philosophy and anthropology. The study of sound appearances in the staging of the collection of the Association de la Régie Théâtrale de la Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris (BHVP) constitutes an important part of my current research works which focus on intermediality matters. That perspective is extended to the study of the IMEB collection (Institut international de Musique Électroacoustique de Bourges) as part of the three-yearly “Deceptive Arts. Machines, magic, media” project.
