Philippe Malhaire (b. 1983) holds an Agrégation in Music and a PhD in Music and Musicology from Sorbonne University. He is currently lecturer at Sorbonne University (Paris) and associate member of IReMus; he is also director of the collection Musiques en question(s) published by L'Harmattan and co-editor (with Anthony Girard) of the annual review Pour les sonorités opposées - esthétique et analyse musicales des vingtième et vingt-et-unième siècles. He is a recognized theorist in the field of polytonality.
