Rudolf SCHMIDT-WUNSTORF (27 august 1916, Hamburg - 12 december 2001, Pontoise), was a violonist, violist, conductor as well as a composer. His musical production was varied, ranging from symphonic to vocal music, with pieces for harmony or chamber formations. He first studies music in Hamburg, then in the Musik Akademie in Stuttgart and Berlin. From 1949 to 1959, as First Violin in the Hamburger Rundfunk Orchester, he composes mainly symphonical works. He moves then in France and works in the Education Nationale starting 1962. His work then shifts towards vocal compositions, amongst which operas for children. As a composer and conductor, he wins several musical competitions.
