This piece of great intensity, for cello and organ was written in 2000 for my cousin François Michel, second cello in the Paris orchestra. As a tribute to the composer Olivier Messiaen, there are several allusions to his finest works, including the first, although the duo formation, rare, shuffleboard. Referring to the sequence of the Gregorian Easter Day "Victimæ paschali laudes" this piece was one of the first that I showed in 2001 to Jean-Louis Florentz , who was briefly my master, and who then particularly affected.
