This sonata, written in 1985, is the first work that really satisfied the composer, then 26 years old, and that he never  revised. The musician's love for the deeply lyrical, grave and poetic character of the cello drove him to give of his best in the three movements of the work, but also being very careful when writing the piano part, where rich chords and polyphonic writing contribute to the impression of  poetic density and musical hedonism which, the composer hopes, dominates the whole score. Two slow, grave, contemplative and rather rhapsodic movements frame the central one, which is a true explosion of energy and enthusiast vehemence, which finally dissolve  into starry dust, leading to the last movement, which is even more concentrated and evocative than the first
