This work for large wind orchestra finds its inspiration in four verses of the Book of the Revelation of John. The composer tried to create a musical equivalent to the grandiose and fabulous visions, so incredibly rich in colours, of that book, whose main content is the expression of a steadfast faith rather than the fear of hypothetical catastrophes. The inexhaustible ressources of a large wind orchestra are treated here in a spirit very close to Olivier Messiaen, the work being dedicated to his memory.
