This is a first-hand book, easy to handle for a reader curious to get an idea of museum and Japanese themes, which puts within reach of the neophyte as well as the expert a subject that is still too little known.

A new vision of space in art museums in Japan circumscribes Japanese ways of thinking and implements an interdisciplinary approach, touching both the conception and the perception of the museum space. This work opens up a new field of research that concerns architectural and museographic space in relation to social life and human geography, as well as aesthetics, associating both the history of art and architecture, the sacred art of Shinto and Buddhist religious spaces, the work of wood and materials, and garden art.
