La Cloche fêlée, was commissioned by the Netherland Flute Orchestra in 2001, the first performance took place at the festival Gaudeamus week in Amsterdam in September 2002.
Some harmonic spectra in this composition are mixed with some harmonic fields from Japanese popular music in particular related to the Gagaku. The relationship between timbre and harmony is essential in this composition which are evoked in the rarefied atmosphere and colored scenery of some eastern Japanese painting of the twentieth century.
