E-SCORE PDF VERSION
This piece transcribed for flute and piano, is dedicated to my granddaughter Axelle, it’s a lullaby to calm a crying baby, leading him gently to sleep. The piano part is about the cradle’s swing and the baby’s crying (dissonant chords) ; the flute part is about a song sung by the mother. The minor tone at the very beginning lets her place to a major tone for the theme’s reexposition, the baby is now quiet (less dissonant chords). The end of the piece is about the cradle swing’s stop : QUIET ! The baby’s sleeping.
