These two pieces for solo harp are extracts from the Vingt Mystères du Rosaire [Twenty Mysteries of the Rosary] op. 10 by Eric Lebrun. They were composed at the request of Clara Izambert, who premiered them immediately they were written. They achieved success straight away on account of their poetic mood. The second piece is a passacaglia, a hundred bars in length, made up of ten variations, a reference to the ten Beatitudes. This work has a luminous quality all of its own. « Le Couronnement de la Vierge » ["The Coronation of the Virgin"] is an extract from the Vingt Mystères du Rosaire [Twenty Mysteries of the Rosary] op. 10 by Eric Lebrun, for violin, 'cello, harp and organ. It is a prelude of an intensely poetic character, and can be played independently of the rest of the cycle, as a piece of chamber music.
