This collection offers a selection of pieces suitable for the first year of studies on the harpsichord. A variety of works from the 16th to the 20th century have been chosen and divided up into twenty lessons arranged in order of difficulty. Preparatory technical exercises have been provided for each piece. Editorial indications and pedagogical commentaries have been deliberately omitted so as to leave the teacher free to add his-her own phrasing, articulation marks, ornamentation, etc. and so that each piece may be adapted to the individual requirements of different learners.
