The celebrated music critic Bernard Gavoty, in an article dated 1969 in the magazine "Musica", referred to the composer Dynam-Victor Fumet (1867-1949) as an organist "the likes of whom you hear once in a century". He added further on, "When I was young I heard him once at the Sainte-Anne de la Maison-Blanche church where he was titular organist. On that day I felt the most electrifying emotion of my life". A student of César Franck, this flamboyant musician left a large number of sacred works in which his music leads to ardent adoration, stripped of all sentimentality and superficial theatrics, in complete agreement with a profound faith as advocated by the Pope Pius X in his "Motu Proprio".
