Like his illustrious predecessor, Antonio Vivaldi, DV Fumet took his inspiration from this theme in order to give us these four pieces for mixed choir, embellished by his own poems. It should be noticed that the composer begins with "Autumn", in which his mysticism can be seen in the death of flowers, the falling of the leaves from trees during this nostalgic season, and by the verse: "in order to deserve life one must know how to die...". The other seasons follow in order (winter, spring, summer), each of them with its own characteristics and ends in a glorious summer.
