This piece in two parts, which includes a Cantilena followed by a fugue, refers to the baroque "prelude and fugue" form. In this piece, I aimed at opposing the popular characteristics of the theme to more erudite aspects. This piece borrows harmonies from the French early XXth century style, and from a formal point of view, it features a fugue with a countersubject, an augmentation, an inversion and a stretto.
