This Fantasy for organ is entirely based on Christmas Carols. They are developed through different movements, each varying in character and nuance, evolving from a meditative Introduction to a dazzling Finale in a blaze of light arising from the spirit and joy of Christmas.

The carols used come from various countries: Introduction:

3. Dance: We three kings (J. H. Hopkins, 1857, USA) Deck the hall with boughs of holly. (England, 16th century)

4. Finale: Freu dich, Erd und Sternzelt (Bohemia, 1520)

Zu Bethlehem geboren (Germany, 16th century)
