E-SCORE PDF VERSION
This short piece was written to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the organ built by Andreas Silbermann in Sainte-Aurélie Church in Strasbourg (1718). The composer adapted his writing to the particularities of this instrument. The title as well as the musical content of the work, very close to an improvisation, pay tribute to the stylistic freedom of the masters of the Early Baroque era. The harmonic idiom in this piece is nearly strictly tonal, this being quite unusual in the composer’s work.
