Honorary organist of the famous organ of Saint-Séverin in Paris, Francis Chapelet taught organ at the Conservatoire National de Bordeaux, where he created the class. The author of numerous recordings, most of them devoted to Iberian music and awarded five Grand Prix du Disque, Francis CHAPELET is particularly familiar with the sound world of the Spanish organ and the literature devoted to it.
Among the immense heritage left to us by Iberian composers throughout the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, Francis Chapelet has selected the most beautiful organ pieces, those that move, astonish, amaze but also sometimes disconcert.
He has carefully copied them into a single book which contains all the best of the Spanish genius and which are proposed in this anthology.
