A title is not chosen by chance, or at least it shoudn't be so. Here, the title « Organ symphony » isn't the result of a caprice of the composer, but the simple consequence of the structure of the work, in three parts, of the internal organization of each movement, and of the quasi-orchestral conception of the writing. Also, a tribute paid to the great French tradition of organ symphonies cannot be denied.
