The Sonate kaléidoscopique was written between September 2018 and January 2019 for Jean-Pierre Leguay's eightieth birthday, as a respectful and admiring tribute to his music.
In a personal manner, sometimes explicit but more often discreet, and above all without seeking any imitation, the piece thus multiplies references to the composer's Preludes, Madrigals and Sonatas from start to finish, the latter having become classics of the contemporary repertoire today: a form of ample dimension playing on the resonance of the edifice, typified and colorful registrations, harmonies that are willingly harsh and rough, a desire to make a large organ sound, clear lines, exaltation of the physical pleasure of playing...
