“Bach chat” is a jazz piece composed first for two organists at Olivier Vernet and Cédric Meckler duet request. It’s transcribed here for four hands piano. Several famous Bach’s songs are used in the AABA theme, alternating latin and swing rhythms : the first theme of the two violins concerto first movement, the “Badinerie” of the B minor suite famous melody, and a hint to another famous tune from the cantata “Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben”. Others hints to famous songs of the Leipzig Cantor can be heard in two written choruses : the second theme of the two violins concerto first movement, and the italian concerto third movement theme.
