The twin sister of opus 103 has five chained parts.
It begins with a serious fugue followed by a highly contrasted recitativo alternating imperious and energic sequences and meditative episodes. In the following highly animated scherzo the most varied pianistic resources are called. The performer must be able to play pianissimo and in the most perfect legato the swift motifs accompanied by the unruffled rhythm of the left hand. Both hands are animated in a constant play opposing legato and staccato. A second recitative is made of questions and answers in a harmonic game of strange modulations. The sonata ends with a rondo.
