Originally intended for a scenic music project, which never became reality, so was born the least brief of my works.  It is an imaginary ritual “Dance”, of orchestral conception and in the form of an arc. I reuse here two orientalising modes of the Prelude composed 8 years earlier.

Regarding the 14 variations on an Egyptian air I watched to keep the melody in focus, as oriental audiences remain attached to the lyrical aspect of music.

Bacchus is a joyful, orientalising piece, with virtuosity.  Its asymmetric rhythm in 7/8 wants to be the rendering of the imbalance caused by drunkenness.

- Danse rituelle 06'00''

- Variations sur un air egyptien 04'30''

- Bacchus 03'00''
