Very young children are usually introduced to music through folk rhymes. In spite of - or thanks to - their apparent simplicity, these short melodies often offer many possibilities for an accompaniment, from the simplest to the most complex. I have tried to preserve the rather classical style of these nursery rhymes, through a discreetly polyphonic writing, while trying to awaken the attraction of little children to the expressive and varied colors of a harmony that enriches without distorting these little melodies. I hope that this presentation will contribute to the musical development of children, and pleasantly refresh childhood memories in older children.
