This song cycle responds to an invitation from the Musée de Grenoble for a concert on "Painting and music in the 20th and 21st centuries." Designed as an echo to Travail du Peintre by Francis Poulenc, it is based on poems by Paul Eluard that evoke different painters through generous images and colors. The lack of punctuation in these poems inspired a continuous instrumental writing without separation between the melodies. They are united by a piano interlude linking the different atmospheres.  The blooming colors generated by the poems find  their resonance in a series of cyclical themes that flow and grow over the brilliant musical discourse to end in a burst of joy.
