Written for Viola and Piano, this piece with modern-romantic harmonies, a little jazz to certain agreements, is for end of cycle 1 level. The « Tempo primo » permits the interpreter to open up and feel the expressive musicality of each phrase, and to position the fingers while mastering tones and half tones. The « Tempo più mosso » will acquire velocity and regularity for sixteenth notes in scales and arpeggios. Bow markings and fingering are players choice. The Piano accompaniment is simple enough. They interpretation and technique together permit the player to overcome the difficulties presented and to progress.
