Tête à tête for violin and piano is a piece in three short movements (total duration: 7'30"). The first movement is rather slow and mysterious: it is characterized by large register leaps in the piano and rhythmic contrasts (short/long). The second movement is lyrical, with romantic harmonies and typical melodic contours. The third movement creates a strong contrast compared to the second movement, because of its rhythmical and quasi-aggressive quality. The piano solo section in the middle of this third movement softens the otherwise abrupt lines.
