SERENADE FOR VIOLIN is a piece which is written for violin and piano. After a modal introduction, the violin plays the first theme in D-major. The bow is near from the touche to express a muffled and diaphanous colour. The second theme, which is more lyrical and passionate, is played by the violin first again. Then the keyboard repeats it. Serenade for violin is a sort of „themes and variations“, which is built around two indissociable melodies. The whole piece is full of serenity, calmness and softness.

This piece, which was imagined in 2001, was created December 7, 2002 at the church of Voulx (Seine-et-Marne). A second piece, which was written for this duet, follows it: „Caprice for violin“. The two pieces can be played one after the other, without order.
