"Le ruban de satin" was written for Céline Prévot, teacher at CRR of Rueil-Malmaison, and CRI of Thorigny-sur-Marne. This relatively difficult composition (3rd cycle level) is nostalgic and passionate in character. It displays the violin’s warm tone and demands a solid technique. Tempi « moderato espressivo » will permit the interpreter to open up and feel the expressive musicality of each phrase; Tempi faster and technical will acquire velocity and regularity for sixteenth notes. The piano accompaniment is of medium difficulty. Interpretation and technique together permit the player to overcome the difficulties presented and to progress.
