The particularity of Wesendonck-Lieder lies in the fact that they are as often given in their original version with piano as in their orchestral version. As a result, it is possible for the transcriber to stay both close to keyboard writing while being inspired by the orchestral timbres so often associated with these Lieder. This dual origin also justifies the work here undertaken to achieve a real achievement for organ that takes into account the specificities of the instrument, instead of sticking to the piano score by adding some pedal notes here or there.
