Too modest, Olivier Alain never tried to promote himself or his musical or literary oeuvres. His musical catalogue contains 170 opus numbers. Even if one can perceive a certain family influence, Olivier did indeed have his own personal style, and a language quite different from that of his brother Jehan. Olivier was an essentially original composer. His works are of the highest quality and thoroughly deserve publication.
