BOURS Etienne

Born on the 19th of October, 1951.

Studied law at the University of Liège.

Journalist, writer, consultant specialized in traditional, folk and popular music.

Worked during 33 years as a consultant for the record libraries of Belgium.

Worked during 7 years for the RTBF where he programmed and presented a weekly program of traditional and folk music of the world.

Author of several books : -Dictionnaire thématique des musiques du monde, Fayard, Paris, 2002. -Le sens du son. Musiques traditionnelles et expression populaire, Fayard, Paris, 2007. -Pete Seeger, un siècle en chansons, Le Bord de l’Eau, Bordeaux, 2010.

Co-author of several books about world music. Author of many articles and critics about music.

Give talks, lessons and workshops about world music, traditional, folk, blues, jazz, the music market, the festivals….
