GAUTIER Lola

I was born on 4 July 1964. I am a children's illustrator. I studied classical art at a private school, where I acquired various academic skills: drawing and the glazing technique through the study of Dutch oil painting (Vermeer). I prefer the classical painters of the late 19th century, particularly Impressionism and Pointillism. I run a variety of activities around art in nature and I'm doing a course in environmental education for sustainable development. Self-taught, curious and a jack-of-all-trades, I've tried my hand at mural decoration and painting on all kinds of surfaces. I'm learning how to use digital tools, and I'm perfectly at home in the world of children's illustration.

Passionate about the theme of protecting nature, my influences come from my experiences with my children and my different experiences in animation. My influences come from a wide range of literary and graphic worlds. From Pierre Rabhi to Jean Giono, via Terry Pratchett and JRR Tolkien to Kim Jong Gi, Frederic Pilot and Amelie Fléchais. A whole universe as diverse as it is enriching serves as fertile ground for my creations. I joined an association of comic strip and illustration enthusiasts, which gave me the opportunity to meet authors and cultivate my garden of knowledge.
