BAZIN Philippe

Philippe Bazin, photographer, is a graduate of the École nationale supérieure de la photographie d'Arles and taught photography at the École nationale supérieure d'art de Dijon until 2020. He was awarded the Prix Niépce in 1999 and is a member of the scientific committee of the journal Focales (Université de Saint-Étienne). In 2009, he published La Radicalisation du Monde, a summary of his work on faces (l'Atelier d'édition/Loco). Since the early 2000s, his artistic work has focused on the relationship between aesthetics and politics. His book on photography, Pour une photographie documentaire critique, was published in 2017 (Créaphis). He will publish the essay Jeff Wall, le peintre de la vie moderne with Editions Loco in May 2023. Books published with philosopher Christiane Vollaire: Le Milieu de nulle part (Créaphis, 2012), Vider Calais (Château-Coquelles, Dunkerque, 2019), Un Archipel des solidarités : Grèce, 2017-2020 (Loco, 2020).
