LEGRAND Marine

Marine Legrand is an anthropologist and writer, in charge of research and animation at the Laboratoire Eau, Environnement, Systèmes Urbains (École des Ponts Paristech). She works on the ecologization of land-use planning practices in a post-industrial context, via a multi-sited ethnographic practice, mainly in France. She studies the knowledge and imaginary associated with the emergence of alternative practices, the questioning of existing infrastructures, and the dialogue between informal uses and institutional approaches. After a decade devoted to the management of biodiversity in cities, her research now focuses mainly on ecological sanitation. She is also interested, via a research-creation approach, in the nurturing links between humans and other living things: from the fate of mammalian body fluids to biogeochemical cycles and the rhythms of the biosphere.
