Christiane Vollaire, philosopher, is a research associate at the CNAM Centre de recherche sur le travail et le développement, a fellow of the Institut Convergences Migrations (Collège de France), a member of the Non-lieux de l'exil program (Université Paris-Nanterre, ICM), and a member of the editorial board of Chimères magazine. She has co-hosted the seminar Image et recherche critique at EHESS. She has forged a concept of field philosophy from which she works, in France and abroad, on migration, working-class neighborhoods, solidarity and protest movements. Her books include Humanitaire, le cœur de la guerre (L'Atelier d'édition, 2007), Pour une philosophie de terrain (Créaphis, 2017), Distance ludique, distance critique (with Lydia Martin, Loco, 2022), Des Philosophes sur le terrain (with Sophie Djigo, Isabelle Delpla and Olivier Razac, Créaphis, 2022).
