Irène Assayag holds a doctorate in twentieth-century musicology devoted to Giacinto Scelsi (1905-1988): Musique et spiritualité, prepared under the supervision of Professor Pierre Albert Castanet. Among her many writings, she has published a book devoted to the great Italian poet and composer Scelsi for Editions L'Harmattan (Paris). Singing director at the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles and responsible for the study of 17th-century styles for the Jeune Chœur de Paris, she teaches harpsichord and early music at the Chartres and Lucé conservatories. As a performer, her repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary works.
