These three short works of a light, whimsical and sensitive nature were written at the request of clarinettist Pierre Dutrieu and for the top students in his class, with the aim of working on so-called "extended" playing techniques. The humorous title reflects the mood of the work: a kind of purification of my writing, whose character is rather similar to written improvisations based on short, highly heterogeneous musical elements, some of which are close to silence and others extremely powerful.

Students well trained in contemporary techniques can play them. The difficulty lies less in the "fingers" than in a kind of "polyphony of playing modes and very diverse timbres" that contribute to the delicate poetry of the work. The difficulties are thus shifted "from the fingers to the timbres and playing modes".

Although the constituent motifs are common to all 3 pieces, each is based more specifically on certain motifs, contributing to the different characters of each part. The spirit of each is as follows:

1) Onirique: soft, fragile sounds and noises.

2) Éclats: very demonstrative, powerful, lively and contrasting.

3) Suspended time: fragile singing, colorful outfits.

The three works/parts have been conceived as a whole that can be linked together in the given order, but can be played on their own or as follows: separately or 1-2 or 2-3 or 1-2-3. In the latter case, it is a true concert work.
