This book has three books covering two centuries of history:
Book 1 - (1814-1899) Adolphe Sax
Book 2 - (1900 to 1942) Internationalization of the saxophone
Book 3 - (1942 to 2000) The Concert Saxophone
The mixed form of writing accompanies the subject, which testifies to the tormented jolt produced by the use of the saxophone in the world of popular music and improvised music until the most cleverly written works of art, putting in turn the accent on the inventor of the instrument and tens of thousands of original works and remarkable saxophonists.
This second work covers the period from the death of Adolphe Sax to 1942, date of the consequent taking into account of the saxophone by the Conservatoire de Paris. Are evoked all the musical genres in which the saxophone is expressed: popular and learned, classical, jazz, variety, even circus, and are highlighted many musicians specialized in the instrument, unknown or forgotten.
